Nablus – The Palestinian Center for Democracy and Conflict Resolution in cooperation with the ministry of Interior started implementing the project of " Developing the civil services based upon practicality and transparency " within the activities of reinforcing the capacities of the Palestinian Authority program which is funded by the American Agency for International Development USAID .
This project aims at improving the procedures of introducing the services at the ministry of Interior offices and building the capacities of the ministry 's employees in serving the citizen by the results of open dialogues between the people and the officials of the ministry .
This improvement should appear in the ways the officials use in serving the citizens and in the administrative and organizational behaviors which can reflect the ways of the serving and dealing with the Palestinians .
This project targets 4 governorates in the West Bank ; Nablus , Tulkarm , Bethlehem and Hebron .
The project manager , Mr. Ahmed Abu Ayesh , stated that the project began implementing many interviews for the citizens in front of the offices of the ministry of Interior in the mentioned governorates in order to recognize the problems and the obstacles the Palestinian citizen faces through getting the services from the ministry's offices .
The Palestinian Center for Democracy and Conflict Resolution holds several public meetings by making the senior staff of the Interior meets the citizens in order to discuss and study the problems and put the resolutions .
The next period , many radio meetings are expected to be held in the mentioned governorates which can enable the Palestinian official communicate with the citizen These meetings will be followed by many training meetings and will be implemented by a group of experts and professionals in order that they can help in improving the ways of introducing the services of the ministry and to show the officials the results of this project in order to discuss the problems and find the suitable solutions .
Abu Ayesh mentioned that they implemented a public meeting at Ithna in Hebron with the presence of more than hundred citizens from the town .
The manager of Hebron Interior office , Mr. Kayed Jaradat , and another employees answered the questions and the inquiries the citizens asked about the services introducing to them concerning the passports , the civil affairs and another related affairs .
Also, they held another public meeting at Nour Shams Camp in Tulkarm . This meeting is attended by more than 80 persons . The manager of Tulkarm Interior office , Mr. Abdullah Aduna , and the Interior employees answered the questions and the inquiries of the citizens in this meeting . At the end , the citizens praised these activities as they help them recognize many issues concerning the services of the ministry of Interior offices and they asked for more such activities and meetings .
