PCDCR Overview
The Palestinian Center for Democracy & Conflict Resolution (PCDCR), is a non-profit non-governmental organization. PCDCR evolved from a series of activities implemented by a group of Palestinian youths volunteered to develop an Arab Palestinian model institution to further develop those activities and apply them in form of large-scale training courses, educational activities and projects in and for the Palestinian community. The endeavor of this group to form a Palestinian institute with international standards of service helped in obtaining the official license at the Ministry of Justice in 1998 as a Palestinian organization with the dedicated aim of strengthening the Palestinian civil society. Since its establishment, The Palestinian Center for Democracy and Conflict Resolution focuses in the following fields:
The Palestinian Center for Democracy & Conflict Resolution (PCDCR), is a non-profit non-governmental organization. Since its establishment, The Palestinian Center for Democracy and Conflict Resolution focuses in the following fields:
1.1 Education through a positive influence on the younger generation attitudes, values and skills.
1.2 Direct social work that provides counseling and conflict resolution services on the individual and familial and community levels.
1.3 Administrative development of various Palestinian institutions.
1.4 Civil work to promote and encourage citizens' participation in decision-making.
The Vision Of the Palestinian Center
In its external vision, PCDCR is working for a democratic Palestine where citizens are mobilized and empowered to live in dignity and mutual respect under the rule of law, and where citizens and government fully assume their responsibilities to achieve justice, protection and development. In its internal vision, the PCDCR will be a model of excellence in institutional integrity. Its values and programmatic focus will be fully reflected in the manner in which it operates internally. It will continue to assert and defend its political neutrality and freedom of action as a fully independent agency, and it will maintain a relationship of co-ownership and dynamic partnership with its key stakeholders, including its funding and technical assistance partners. Its staff will to contribute effectively and accountably the organization’s Mission to build social and democratic change in Palestine. It will be governed by a corporate governance structure that provides the assurance of transparency, accountability and institutional sustainability, and it will be guided by an ongoing strategic approach to its investments in order to ensure quality, relevance and impact.

The Mission Of the Palestinian Center Towards the Community
In its external mission, the PCDCR invests in the democratic experience of Palestinians by supporting the development of an accountable governance system. The organization operates an integrated program of community mobilization and capacity building that enables citizens to build trust and confidence in their own abilities to resolve community issues, and thus to take an increasingly active and confident role in society. Free of any political affiliation, the PCDCR provides technical and other capacity building support to informal and formal decision-making bodies so that they can respond effectively and accountably to the demands of an increasingly aware and activist civil society. In its internal mission, the PCDCR is investing in an effective and accountable administrative, management and governance structure. This investment includes staff training, Board development support and administrative restructuring. It will allocate this investment strategically in order to achieve its vision of institutional and programmatic excellence and innovation. The organization is committed to strengthening its capacity to access an increasingly diversified funding base, and will upgrade its information and reporting capacity to service the needs of its funding and technical assistance and other partners.

PCDCR Goals
General Goals:
1. Spreading social awareness with the importance of conflict resolutions.
2. Spreading general social awareness with the concepts of democracy and human rights, and encouraging civil and associations' practices.
3. Activating the civil work with all forces and associations of the community, in order to achieve the highest proportion of citizens' participation in decision makings.
4. Raising the awareness of individuals, groups and associations as well as all community sectors in the Palestinian community with how to positively deal with disputes in order to create a social balancing that helps in development and promotion.
5. Creating a Palestinian social vision that has the ability to merge with the international community keeping its particularity and Palestinian culture.
6. Raising the internal performance of the administrative versifications inside different associations to participate in rising production in all Palestinian associations.
Specific Goals:
1. Organizing education methodologies for schools and universities' students in conflict resolutions.
2. Organizing social training programs for schools and universities' students and other different sectors in the community to provide them with positive dealing in disputes.
3. Providing the service of solving disputes in alternatives methods, including individual and collective counseling and family services through free phone calls in the center's offices.
4. Working on analyzing and designing activities about the concepts of democracy and human rights in Palestinian school methodologies.
5. Organizing a social training program for the social field workers in governmental and nongovernmental organizations to provide them with skills of conflict resolutions, and to climate those skills with what accommodates their experiences emerging from Arabic and Palestinian cultures.
6. Working with different Palestinian Medias to offer successful methodologies by displaying activities that represents the successful methodology as a way to empower the concepts of conflict resolutions, democracy and human rights.
7. Organizing infield programs to enlarge the participation of citizens in making decisions about improving their daily life.
8. Organizing civil training programs for workers in the social fields like, mokhtars and reforming committees to provide them with conflict resolution skills.
9. Offering civil training programs in conflict resolution to the syndicate committees.
10. Offering programs for journalists to find a partnership ground that helps empowering the Palestinian community band and to decrease tension.
11. Training civil intervene cadres that participate in solving disputes and deals with all community sectors.
12. Providing a safe place to be used in solving family and community disputes.
13. Develop a center for providing data about conflict resolutions for researchers and interested persons.
