A Workshop in Al-Qarara to Raise Students Academic Achievement

The Palestinian Center for Democracy and Conflict Resolution implemented a workshop in Al-Qarara, a number of school directors, teachers and students’ parents participated, this come through “Child Protection Team” project which based on the local community which is implemented in partnership with Save the Children Institution.
The workshop aimed to discus the main difficulties that impede the educational processi order to raise the students academic achievement, at the request of the parents who participate in the educational sessions that implemented by PCDCR in Al-Qararea, the main issues which were discussed during the workshop are:
1- The difficulties that face the educational process in Al-Qarara.
2- The ways to follow-up children at home.
3- The mechanisms to cooperate between school and parents.
4- Discussing the new curriculum and the its difficulties.
5- Violence at school.
During the discussion, they put some methods to resolve the difficulties as follow:
1- Implementing workshops between the responsible for the educational process and parents to develop the educational process.
2- Forming a committee to communicate between parents and school.
3- Starting a remedial teaching at school to be as a voluntary work.
4- Identifying the hard curriculums in order to simplify them.
5- Putting a study plan for the child by parents and school.
6- Cooperating with school effectively.
